Raw organic chocolate is not a candy, it is a high antioxidant whole clean food that is also high in flavanoids.  The specific flavanols are: epicatechins and catechins, anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins.  Raw organic chocolates that have NOT been heated contains higher amounts of epicatechin and catechin than chocolates that have been roasted or fermented.  Heating cacao promotes loss of the beneficial antioxidants by up to 80%.

What can all of these nutrients, packed into each piece of chocolate, do for you and your body?

Calcium:  Helps to balance the beating of the heart, the health of the circulatory system, and blood pressure.  Calcium is also good for bones, teeth and your hair.

Phosphorus: This nutrient works closely with Calcium and is present in tissue and cells in your body.  One important role Phosphorous plays in the body is to help filter waste in the kidneys, which in turn helps to balance other vitamins and minerals in your body.

Iron: The body must have iron in order to make oxygen-carrying proteins that go to the muscles throughout the body.

Thiamine (B1): Helps the body convert carbohydrates into energy.  Your heart, muscles and nervous system need this vitamin.

Riboflavin (B2): This is a water soluble vitamin that must be replenished everyday through your diet.  Riboflavin helps to release energy from carbohydrates and makes red blood cells.

Niacin: This is an important vitamin that helps boost your HDL ‘good cholesterol’ by mopping up the LDL ‘bad cholesterol’.

Niacinamide (B3): Helps to combat high cholesterol, aids the brain and age related disease like Alzheimers, and also is important in the metabolism of glucose, amino acids, and fatty acids.

Panthotenic Acid (B5): This vitamin is important for our bodies to properly use carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids for healthy skin. Panthotenic Acid supports the adrenal glands to increase production of cortisone and other adrenal hormones that will help counteract stress.

Pyridoxine (B6): This vitamin helps the immune system produce antibodies, which is critical for fighting infection.  Pyridoxine also helps to maintain normal nerve cell function and produce red blood cells.

Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C):  Vitamin C is an antioxidant, aids in the growth and repair of you system and absorbs iron.  Absorbic Acid helps form collagen, an important protein used to make skin, scar tissue, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. Vitamin C is essential for the healing of wounds, as well as the repair and maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth.  It is water soluble and whatever is leftover from the day is excreted from your body through urine.  You need to replenish this vitamin every day.

Magnesium: An important and essential mineral that helps the contraction and relaxation of muscles, transportation of energy, and formation of protein in the body.

Copper: Works much the same was as iron by helping in the formation of red blood cells. Copper also helps in keeping the blood vessels, nerves, immune system, and bones healthy.

Zinc: Zinc helps to stabilize many cell walls.  It is very important to the immune system.

Manganese: This is an essential nutrient involved in many chemical processes in the body.  It helps aid in the processing of cholesterol, carbohydrates, and protein.

Vitamin E: Vitamin E is a fat soluble antioxidant that helps protect the body from free radical damage and is important to eye health.  It plays an important role in the formation of red blood cells and helps the body to use Vitamin K.

Acai Berry: High in antioxidants, has Omega 3, 6 and 9, aids Omega 3 penetration into cells, Vitamin A and fiber. It also provides the body with heart-healthy fats and it promotes healthy weight loss.

Omega 3: Is an essential fatty acid that your body requires to maintain optimum health, cell development and function.  You must ingest Omegas because your body does not make them.  These Omega fatty acids help to reduce inflammation, promote healthy cells made by the brain, aid in balancing the brain functionality, helps your skin, and to keep your heart healthy.

Maqui Berry: This berry contains the highest antioxidant value of any known superfruit. As reported in Medical News Today; the ORAC value of the Maqui Berry was 4 to 30 times higher than the average Acai Berry. The pulp of the Maqui has a 27,600 value per 100 g serving as compared to 16,700 per 100 g portion of the Acai. The Macqui Berry also helps to boost your metabolism and has Omega 6 and 9.

Vitamin A:  Vitamin A helps form and maintain healthy teeth, skeletal and soft tissue, mucous membranes, and skin.  It is essential and needed for the Retina.

Vitamin K: Vitamin K is actually a group of fat soluble vitamins that are needed for the ‘posttranslational modification’ (PTM-A chemical modification of a protein after its translation)  of certain proteins, mostly required for blood coagulation but is also involved in metabolism pathways in bone and other tissue.

Anthocyanins: Anthocyanins are powerful antioxidants and are usually found in the skins of dark fruits like Blueberries that have exceptionally health benefits to your body when consumed.

Organic raw cold pressed chocolate is a potent natural medicine. There are many studies that dampen the mood on supplements when taken in singular form, having proved that too much of one nutrient or vitamin is toxic for the body.  For example too much Vitamin E slows down blood coagulation making it harder for bleeding to stop if you get cut.  Too much Vitamin A can be very toxic to the body as well as Selenium.  You should only get those from natural foods because your body is programmed to process these nutrients and vitamins.  Overdosing on high amounts of any particular nutrient or vitamin hurts your body because it doesn’t know how to process them.  If you take supplements in singular form it should be under a doctors guidance and not what you think you need because a doctor can order various tests to determine what your body needs.

Raw organic healthy chocolate dietary supplements are evenly balanced in high antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.  They are meant to help give you what you may be missing in your diet every single day and are not meant to replace your fruits and vegetables.  The bottom line is if you don’t have time to eat right or you know you don’t eat right, then you should be adding healthy chocolate to your daily regime to help keep you healthy. The role antioxidants play in your diet has been shown to combat oxidative stress and free radical damage that kills cells.  Select a raw organic chocolate that best fits you and eat it every day. This type of chocolate is a potent super food packing in all the vitamins in nutrients to help give your body the tools that it needs to stay healthy and combat DNA damage.

A bit of history revisited….A Spanish conqueror was known to have said, “This drink is the healthiest thing, and the greatest sustenance of anything you could drink in the world, because he who drinks a cup of this liquid, no matter how far he walks, can go a whole day without eating anything else.”

    1. Thanks for stopping by and sharing 🙂 I hope that this information helps people to understand that gourmet healthy chocolates are something that they really need to add to their diets. They are an amazing superfood and besides who doesn’t want to eat chocolate all guilt free everyday? 😉

  1. Chocolate contain fats that women avoid that to eat. But I used eating chocolate when I’m totally drain as the nature of blogger. I love eating especially I’m watching videos and reading sites that is useful way of living.

    1. Hello Cynthia and thank you for your comment!

“Q: The question keeps coming up about good fats and bad fats and the fat content of the healthy chocolate products. Could you please help clarify this matter? Thank you!
A: Please look at the booklets and the Omega 3 CD at healthychocolatetools.com about the fats. Remember, cocoa butter is neutral and does not increase cholesterol or put weight on you. It is a special type of saturated fat. The unsaturated fats are from omega 6s and 3s, which are good fats and are essential for your health. You need these types of fats in your diet to feel better. Dr Steve”

When selecting the chocolate you wish to consume, look for a chocolate that has not been processed. Chocolate that is ‘raw’ has not been processed. Learn the process of the manufacturer. Is it raw cold pressed? Is it stone ground and roasted but not heated to kill the flavanols?

Healthy chocolate is not a candy it is a superfood supplement. It’s a guilt free whole clean food that is meant to be eaten every day. It is delicious and super nutritious 🙂

    2. HI Cynthia , From the fats in this chocolate you will not gain weight listen to Dr Phillip Minton,MD about chocolate Weightloss and more that a high flavonoid chocolate only can do >800mg FC at one 10 gram square.
Most bars from 100 gram dark chocolate contain only <5 gr at a 100 gram chocolate bar.

See video Phillip Minton.http://youtu.be/HyGUe7VFlCE there you can find more video's like to know if you liked the info at this blog.

  2. Now this is a nutritious food that I can really get onboard with! I think the thing to remember here is, yes gourmet healthy chocolates are high in antioxidants but just like vitamin E, A etc., balance is the key. And it’s nutritional benefits are not a license to over indulge.

    1. You are absolutely correct Mike! Simply adding one or two of these chocolates to your diet every single day helps ‘supplement’ the intake of fruits and veggies. They pack a punch delivering MORE antioxidants than the USDA recommended! And, who wouldn’t welcome the chance to eat chocolate every day that is 100% guilt free!
